Juventus Want Fabio Quagliarella To Replace Trezeguet

Juventus are expected to part company with French striker David Trezeguet at the end of the season and La Gazzetta dello Sport today reports that the clubs' directors have indentified Udineze and Italy marksman Fabio Quagliarella as the perfect replacement.

‘Trezegol’ vented his frustration at being substituted during the Champions League match with Chelsea, his comments prompting Juve coach Claudio Ranieri to label him a ‘spoilt child’.

It is almost inevitable that this feud will spell the end of Trezeguet’s nine-year stint with the Bianconero and the club doesn't want to waste any time in scouring the market to find his successor.

Quagliarella has often been linked with the Turin giants in recent seasons, but Juve could now seriously step up their chase in the summer.

The 26-year-old has a contract with the Zebrette until June 2012 and is valued at around €12 million. Roma and Napoli are also said to be interested in acquiring his services.

But Udinese general director Pietro Leonardi has issued a hands-off warning to potential suitors.

"He will remain here, even in front of a mega offer," stated Leonardi.
